About the only predictable part of this Open Championship has been the weather, and with the tournament heading into its final round, the betting odds are nowhere near where they were on Thursday morning. In a messy scandal riddled with car dealerships and improper benefits to players, Tressel resigned on Tuesday in the midst of what may just the beginning of the bad news for the Buckeyes. The NCAA will now launch an investigation on Buckeyes' quarterback, Terrelle Pryor, and with Pryor already suspended for the first five games of the season, the question is if he will ever play Division 1 footb all again.

While Dan Wheldon wins the 96th Indy 500, this year's race brought a lot of the same story for Danica Patrick, as her bid for a win over the top IndyCar contenders fell short when her fuel conservation strategy left her brought her to a 10th-place finish. JR Hildebrand was one turn away from winning the Indianapolis 500 on his very first try, but then while within sight of the checkered flag, the 23-year-old Californian made the ultimate mistake, slamming into the wall on the final turn, allowing Dan Wheldon to drive past him to finish atop the 2011 Indianapolis 500 results.

The Indy 500 favorites are locked in for this year's big event and the top three names on that list will be the center of many race predictions on Sunday afternoon. Danica Patrick (28-1) will command plenty of attention as well, but she shouldn't take much of the spotlight off of Scott Dixon (7-2) and Dario Franchetti (4-1), who are currently the sports handicapping favorites to win the 2011 Indy 500. The Indianapolis 500 is still the most prestigious open-wheel race of the season.

This year's Indy 500 odds will include a lot of betting news buzz from the rumor mill, as this could be Danica Patrick's final IndyCar race. This year's Indianapolis 500 start time is set for Sunday, May 29h, at 12:00pm ET and has Scott Dixon and Dario Franchetti as the co-favorites at +350. This year's race features the closest field in the 100-year history of the race, with a scant 3.5 miles per hour separating the pole winner Alex Tagliani from the last qualifier, Ana Beatriz.

Drivers at Sunday’s Indy 500 had better hold onto their steering wheels a little tighter, because their rides will be bumpier than usual on restarts. The problem lies in Turn 1, as cars get up to 200 mph and are jockeying for position; and the way these cars get to that turn will affect which Indy 500 picks will hold up throughout the race. The turn itself is tight for cars running only one wide, but it will be made even tighter as cars line up two wide into that first curve.

The odds to win the 2011 Players Championship at Sawgrass have been posted and as most tournaments in the past, the field is wide open for a surprise winner. Tiger Woods has not yet won another tournament since his personal life encountered some rough patches, but clearly he hasn’t fallen out of favor with the public or the odds-makers.

Manny Ramirez has had his share of antics and no other player’s nonsense has ever been tolerated the way that his was. Even throughout all the on-field shenanigans, when it comes to performance enhancing drugs, everything is serious. Manny’s numbers have always been there and had it not been for the steroids, he would be a lock for the Hall of Fame. But now it’s a matter of respect. Respect for the game, respect for the fans, and respect for himself.
