The Alabama Crimson Tide evened the score with a 21-0 victory over the LSU Tigers and has now achieved official payback for their loss at Tuscaloosa in the game of the century back in November and these teams could very well meet again in the 2012-2013 BCS National Championship. The Crimson Tide will also lose more talent to the NFL this offseason than LSU will and when you combine that with the fact that Les Miles is amongst the best recruiting coaches in the nation, it is understandable why they will open next season with the strongest NCAAF Odds to win the 2012-2013 BCS National Championship at 4/1. The early NCAA Lines also have Alabama listed as a close second on the odds board at 5/1.
It looks like we can expect another SEC team to hoist the Crystal Ball next season and with the way that the three of the conference’s powerhouses crowded the Top of the 2011 BCS Standings, at one point, it almost seemed inevitable that we would eventually be crowning yet another champion from the Deep South. There are a few surprise teams out there that could shock any team on any given day, but the way that the USC Trojans finished the season, while knowing that they would not be playing in the postseason, no matter how well they did, showed a lot of resolve from Lane Kiffin’s squad. The good news for the Trojans is that those sanctions will be lifted next season and I expect the Trojans to make a serious run at the Pac 12 and the BCS National Championship whose Reggie Bush imposed sanctions for receiving improper benefits during his time at Southern Cal.
When betting BCS National Championship futures for the 2012-2013 season, there is one more team out there that cannot get overlooked by any stretch of the imagination. The Arkansas Razorbacks only had two losses last season and they came to the No.1 and No.2 teams in the nation. Losing to Alabama and LSU is nothing to be ashamed of because the only two programs that were able to put up wins against those teams were each other. So the SEC is going to continue to pile on one phenomenal recruiting class after another, as the success in the SEC has no end in sight.
