Fresno State Bulldogs 2010 College Football Predictions - 2011 BCS Odds: Despite losing their best player to the NFL draft in RB Ryan Matthews, the Fresno State Bulldogs are poised for another bowl run. The Bulldogs a er a well-rounded 2010 squad with a newfound aerial attack. The Bulldogs season will largely depend on the outcome of a November 19th away game against Boise State. The Bulldogs have a punchers chance but it will be tough to top the Broncos on the blue turf. Our College Football Picks staff is forecasting another 8 win season and fifth consecutive loss to Boise State.

College Football Predictions Offense: An offense that was primarily run oriented will have to adapt to a more passes being thrown after losing RB Ryan Matthews went the NFL (13th overall). The talent is in place to be formidable in the passing game. The receivers are athletic and deep and the offensive line returns five starters from last year’s 46th ranked scoring offense. Junior QB Ryan Colburn is a capable spread offense operator with 13 starts under his belt. Colburn has upside with agility and a strong arm. The passing game could struggle with consistency however behind a line that is built more for running the football. The rushing offense will be down a few notches after losing Matthews. So. running back Ryan Rouse is a good little back that has averaged 5.8 yards per carry but he is no Matthews.

College Football Predictions Defense: The Bulldogs defense could be what lets them down against Boise State. The secondary could be good enough to contain some good passing teams if the new talent can develop. The front-seven should be much against improved against the run from last year’s 111th ranked rush-defense. 1st team WAC MLB Ben Jacobs leads a nice set of LB’s and DE Chris Carter will create havoc up front. This should be a much improved defense from last year’s 84th ranked defense.

Coaching/Special Teams: Head coach Pat Hill is a savvy and fearless leader that has one of the best staff in the WAC. Special teams imported a big legged punter and have a hidden strength with a 1st team WAC kicker.
