Colts new coach Jim Caldwell was not pleased with his team’s performance in preseason week 1 when they lost 3-13 to the Minnesota Vikings. The Colts held out 6 players against the Vikings but their replacements were unimpressive.  The Colts #1 priorities right now are to have more consistency and to find a capable replacement for departed WR Marvin Harrison.  The quarterbacks expected to see time against the Eagles are Jim Sorgi and rookies Curtis Painter and Chris Crane. The big story of the week for Philadelphia was the signing of  QB Michael Vick. Vick should be a dynamic weapon in the Eagles offense this season out of Wildcat formations and as a receiver on occasion. Another dynamic weapon in the Eagles offense that revealed itself in the preseason opener was rookie RB LeSean McCoy who gained 55 yards on 10 carries. McCoy is a versatile back that is a hard runner with power. Some more good news for the Eagles this week came when star RB Brian Westbrook practiced for the first time since having off-season ankle surgery.
