Notre Dame 2010 College Football Predictions - 2011 BCS Odds: The nightmarish Charlie Weis era at Notre Dame is over with highly regarded Cincinnati import Brian Kelly hired to bring the Fighting Irish back to national prominence. Kelly is a head coach with a reputation for getting the most out of his talent and this year he has a nice deck to play with at South Bend. Our College Football Picks staff is forecasting a nine win season and mid-tier bowl berth in Kelly’s first year with the team.
 

College Football Predictions Offense: This season the Irish will switch to Kelley’s patented spread offense. The Irish have plenty of speed at the skill positions with an excellent receiving corps and deep set of RB‘s. Junior QB Dayne Crist could take some time adjusting to the new system in place but he is a blue-chip recruit that could flourish if he can recover from a torn ACL. The O-line is also green but has top-flight talent and should be solid

College Football Predictions Defense: The Irish have blue-chip recruits at all three levels but overall depth is mediocre. The back seven appears to be in very-good shape with a fast and experienced linebacking corps leading the charge. The D-line has outstanding potential but it has yet to deliver. This should be a top-20 scoring defense.

Coaching/Special Teams: Kelly is arguably the best coach in NCAA Div.-I football and this team should exceed expectations. Special teams will be a team strength with a good kicking game and speed on the return and coverage units.
