The Eagles offense revolves around all-purpose back Brian Westbrook who is one of the best players in the NFL. Westbrook is injury prone however, and when he isn’t 100% the Eagles offense stalls out. QB Donovan McNabb  leads a pass-heavy attack that has two young, explosive wideouts in DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin. The reworked O-Line could take some time to jell but they appear to be excellent on paper.

Philadelphia had 48.0 sacks last year but some wonder if they can duplicate that number if brilliant defensive coordinator Jim Johnson can’t recover from cancer. The Eagles defense attacks from all angles and has a slew of no-name playmakers that Johnson positions well. The front seven is rich with talent, especially on the D-Line. DT’s Broderick Bunkley and Mike Patterson are run stuffers on the inside and DE Trent Cole is disruptive off the edge. The linebackers are young, but gifted, and are among the NFL top-10 units. The secondary is very-good with shutdown CB Asante Samuel leading the charge. Special teams have some dangerous return men and have a strong kicking game.

Philadelphia has no excuse not to do well with awesome talent on both sides of the football. The Eagles will have a tough time knocking off the NY Giants for the NFC East crown, but they should make some noise as a wildcard playoff team.
