Washington 2010 College Football Predictions - 2011 BCS Odds: The Washington made the miraculous jump from winless to respectable with a 5-7 finish in 2009 after going 0-12 the prior year. First year head coach Steve Sarkisian’s schemes and the emergence of QB Jake Locker as an elite signal-caller were the main variables in the turnaround. The schedule is nasty this year but a potent offense gives the Huskies a puncher’s chance against any team in the Pac-10. Our College Football Picks staff is forecasting a finish above .500 and a small-tier bowl berth.
College Football Predictions Defense: The defense has more experience but is still a shaky group as a whole. The front seven has some holes with a paper thin D-line and a linebacking corps that lost two standout players. The Huskies could get run all over on with the current front-seven but the pass-defense should be improved with a secondary that can hold it’s own.
Coaching/Special Teams: Sarkisian is a bright offensive mind that helped himself out with the addition D-coordinator Nick Holt to form a solid staff. Special teams are above-average with a reliable kicker in Erik Folk who hit 18 of 21 field goals last season.
