Stanford 2010 College Football Predictions - 2011 BCS Odds: The Stanford Cardinal will try to build on last year’s strong 8-5 campaign and compete for the Pac-10 division title this season. Stanford has a top-flight offense and experience to make some noise this season but must overcome a difficult schedule that features some challenging games on the road. Our college football predictions forecast is for a near top-25 finish and mid-tier bowl for this year’s Cardinals.
College Football Predictions Offense: The Cardinal offense should be among the best in the country with future NFL 1st round QB Andrew Luck leading the charge. Luck has good surrounding talent with a veteran O-line, an improving receiving corps and deep set of tailbacks. The loss of Heisman candidate RB Toby Gerhart won’t hurt this offense with the focus now shifting to Luck and the passing game.
College Football Predictions Defense: The Cardinal defense will have a new coordinator and could have some growing pains as several starters switch positions in the new 3-4 scheme. The front seven is solid with a strong set of linebackers that should be able to stuff the run. The secondary is very suspect and speed on this side of the ball is mediocre. This should be a bend but don’t break defense.
Coaching/Special Teams: Jim Harbaugh is one of the best coaches in the Pac-10 and he made some upgrades to his staff this year. Stanford’s special teams will be among the best in the country and is a real team strength.
