San Francisco 49ers 2009 NFL Predictions, Win Total & 2010 Super Bowl Odds

San Francisco 49ers 2009 NFL Predictions, Win Total & 2010 Super Bowl Odds: Mike Singletary put his stamp on the 49ers as the interim head coach last season and will continue to use his smash-mouth approach heading into the new season.  For better or worse the 2009 San Francisco 49ers will have the look of the 1985 Chicago Bears under Singletary's direction. Singletary is a master motivator that plans on running the ball, stopping the run and winning games the old fashioned way. The problem for Singletary is that the front office has made some bogus decisions that leave him with a short deck to play out. The NFL predictions odds for the San Francisco 49ers to win the 2010 Super Bowl is listed at 35-1 odds at Sportsbook.com.

The offense will feature a heavy dose of super competitive workhorse Frank Gore. The 26-year old Gore is an abusing in-between the tackles runner that is used to being a feature back. Gore is a versatile player that can do a little bit of this and that, but maybe a little field worn. Gore has averaged 323+ carries over the last 3 years and his legs could be a little tired. Brought in to help the workload was #3 draft pick Glen Coffee. The passing game will be manned by the workmanlike QB Shuan Hill. Hill does not have much arm-strength, but he is a winner and a very accurate thrower. Hill will have a decent O-Line in front of him and a deep set of wideouts that can make plays. The NFL predictions odds for the San Francisco 49ers to win the NFC championship is at 18-1 odds.

Singletary plans on using his 3-4 defense primarily to stop opposing offenses running game dead in their tracks. The defense was solid last season and has a big-time linebacker in Patrick Willis. Willis is an on field tactician that consistently makes plays. Willis has the athleticism to back up his football IQ and is a legit Pro-Bowler. The new scheme on defense will call for more blitzes and OLB Manny Lawson has the potential to have a breakout season. The secondary is led by $80 million dollar CB Nate Clements who is do for a bounce back season after an off-year. The special teams are excellent with punter Andy Lee being arguably the best in the game.

San Fran has the right idea with Singletary at the controls but they still come up short in the personnel department. The NFC West is annually wide open and the ‘Niners could make some noise but it will be up to the defense to overachieve into a top-10 unit. Look for San Fran to stay stuck in mediocrity with a 7-9 finish. The  NFL predictions odds on the season Win Total for the San Francisco 49ers is at 7.0 Wins.
