Denver Broncos 2009 NFL Predictions, Win Total & 2010 Super Bowl Odds: Denver’s new fresh faced Head Coach Josh McDaniels was not planning on this when he took over the Denver Broncos. First, McDaniels loses the face of the franchise in QB Jay Cutler because Cutler found out that McDaniels was going to trade him. Now McDaniels is dealing with All-Pro wide receiver Brandon Marshall who is demanding more money, or he will either sit the season out or turn Chad Johnson on the team. Throw into the mix a new 3-4 defense and the Broncos have a world of uncertainty heading into the season. Orton is not the type of QB to pick you apart, but he is smart and makes few mistakes. Added to help the offense was highly touted #1 draft pick RB Knowshen Moreno. Moreno fit’s the system perfectly. Moreno is a hard charger with soft hands and has excellent depth behind him. Brandon Marshall is a game breaker that gives defensive coordinators nightmares. The Broncos defense was one of the worst in the league last season, and they still have major holes in the front seven. At times last season the run defense seemed to be all but invisible. The team spent a 1st round pick on speedy DE\LB Robert Ayers to improve a pass-rush that ranked 26th in sacks. The team has some talent at ILB with D.J Williams who could make his first Pro-Bowl this season. The secondary is still the strongest group on defense but All-Pro Champ Bailey is not the player he once was at age 31. New Safety Brian Dawkins is a hard-hitting leader that can still play. Special Teams are average all-around.

The Broncos have not been  to the playoffs since 2005 and will have to wait another year at least before they return. McDaniels should help inject some energy into the team in place of Mike Shanahan, but he can’ play defense for them.
