Tebow took only nine snaps from a conventional formation behind center last season at Florida and will try to prove that he is more than a gimmick QB. Below is a breakdown of players on both sides of the ball that could make a differnce in the outcome of the 2010 Senior Bowl.
The Senior Bowl 2010 Betting Odds have the South team led by Tim Tebow as a -3.5 favorites at SBGGLOBAL.COM.
Offense: While the South squad is led by Tim Tebow the North squad will be led by Cincinnati QB Tony Pike who has been touted as the best NFL talent heading into the Senior Bowl. Behind Tebow is West Virginia QB Jarrett Brown who impressed with his pocket presence and accuracy in practice this week. Behind Pike is accurate but limited Oregon St. QB Sean Canfield. Some receivers that have stood out this week are South representatives TE Jimmy Graham from Miami and Ole Miss’s Dexter McCluster. North wideout WR Jacoby Ford has also opened eyes with his blazing speed and ability to return kicks. North RB’s LeGarrette Blount from Oregon has impressed scouts with his power and running instincts along with Virginia RB Rashawn Jackson who has shown great versatility. The South has the edge on the O-line with projected 1st round OT Ciron Black leading the way. The Senior Bowl 2010 Betting Odds Total is at 44.5 points.
Defense: On the D-line from the North a trio of players have made their presence known in powerful DE Brandon Graham from Michigan, speedy DE Alex Carrington from Arkansas and prototypical 3-4 DE Jared Odrick from Penn St. South DT Dan Williams has shown that he can be an impact big man in the NFL with his size and explosiveness. The North has the advantage at linebacker with three big-hitting LB’s making noise in this week’s sessions in Donald Butler from Washington, Sean Wetherspoon from Missouri and Daryl Washington from TCU. In the secondary the South showed why they are known for their “Florida speed” with FSU CB Patrick Robinson and S Nate Allen showing their playmaking ability. The North’s secondary looks to be the more physical of the bunch however with CB Kyle Wilson from Boise State and S Taylor Mays from USC impressing.
