The 2010 NFL Playoff Predictions New York Jets vs San Diego Chargers Betting Line has San Diego -7 NFL Odds at SBGGLOBAL.COM.

New York Jets Offense vs. San Diego Chargers Defense:
New York running back Thomas Jones had a career year with 1324 yards rushing and 12 TD’s, carrying the weight of the offense on his 225 Lb. shoulders. Jets rookie QB Mark Sanchez (63.2 passer rating) has shown the tools to be a good signal-caller in the future but right now he is still a mistake prone gambler. The Jets passing game ranked 31st in yards but Thomas Jones running ability helped them rank 17th in scoring. If Sanchez’s wideouts can catch the ball (Braylon Edwards) this offense is pretty good with a big O-line setting the table. The Chargers defense has done very well despite having lots of  injuries on the D-line to rank 11th in scoring defense. The defense does have some cracks with a  run defense that allows 4.5 yards per carry and a pass defense that has a spotty 84.2 opposing passer rating. The pass-rush is decent but star OLB Shawne Merriman is not the same unstoppable force that he once was. The Chargers will hold a slight advantage on defense against the still green rookie QB Sanchez. The New York Jets vs. San Diego Chargers NFL Odds Total is at 42.0 points.

San Diego Chargers Offense vs. New York Jets Defense:
San Diego’s offense is hitting on all cylinders with QB Phillip Rivers playing at an MVP level. The Chargers rank 4th in points scored with an offense that features an array of big wideouts that create mismatches against most secondary’s. TE Antonio Gates (6’4” 260 4.60 40-speed) has been practically impossible to cover along with WR Vincent Jackson  (6’5” 240 4.45). The running game ranks a lowly 31st in yards but still solid RB LaDainian Tomlinson has been a beast near the goal line with 12 TD’s. New York’s defense is arguably the nastiest brand in the NFL. The front seven is liitered with bruising hitters and the secondary is bolstered by lockdown CB Derelle Revis have made this unit the #1 scoring defense in the NFL. The Jets are equally dominant against the run or pass and head coach Rex Ryan has a take no prisoners approach with his aggressive blitz schemes. Both of these units are excellent but the Chargers are a little better.

Free Sports Picks Intangibles: The Chargers are solid on special teams while the Jets are awful. Chargers head coach Norv Turner has a bright offensive mind and Jets coach Rex Ryan is a defensive master. San Diego is healthier. San Diego is 6-2-1 ATS in their last 9 games.
