UFC 116 Results: Sotiropoulos Takes Pellegrino by Unanimous Decision: Australian lightweight contender George Sotiropoulos remained undefeated in the UFC (6-0) with a unanimous decision win over Kurt Pellegrino 30-27, 30-27, 29-28. The Aussie started off fast by staggering Pellegrino with a right hand to the temple followed by a crisp straight left to the chops early in round one. Pellegrino hung tough and executed a takedown late in the round but Sotiropoulos took the first frame.
 

UFC 116 Results Analysis: Sotiropoulos executed a takedown of his own early in round 2 and landed some damaging elbows. Pellegrino got back to his feet but George controlled the stand-up with his fundamental boxing skill. Sotiropoulos peppered Pellegrino throughout with jabs and hooks from different angles by using good head movement. Sotiropoulos remained in control in the third until Pellegrino landed a devastating knee with seconds left that almost knocked out Sotiropoulos but was too little too late as the bell rang.
