Fight Picks Analysis: Devon Alexander is a gritty volume puncher with good technique and excellent conditioning. The well-built 5’7” Alexander likes to apply smart pressure from a southpaw stance while delivering droves of punches with Monica Seles-like grunts. Alexander has good hand-speed and strings together nice combinations but his accuracy isn‘t real sharp. Alexander is not a big puncher but he goes to the body effectively and his left hand has a little pop.

Alexander was national amateur champ but he is still learning the finer points of the pro game. Alexander’s chin also hasn’t been tested against a big hitter like Urango so the jury is still out on his beard.
