The Angels are trying to become only the 12th out of 82 teams to reach the World Series after being down 3-1 in a championship series.

The Angels put flame throwing Yankees right-hander A.J Burnett in a hole early by hammering Burnett for 4 runs in the first inning. Burnett managed to settle in after that allowing only 2 more runs over the next 5.0 innings, but he was thoroughly outpitched by his counterpart John Lackey who went 6 2\3 innings while allowing 3 runs.

After Lackey was pulled in the top of the 7th inning the Yankees exploded for 6 runs giving them a 6-4 lead. As they have done all year however, the Angels stormed back with 3 runs in the bottom of the 7th to take the lead back 7-6. Things got tense in the 9th inning with Angels left Brian Fuentes trying to close the door with 2 outs and the bases loaded. Fuentes got the job done, however and the Angels live to see another chance at securing a World Series birth.
