2010 College Football Lines: Alabama has not lost a regular season game in two years and have a good chance of repeating as National Champions. Inexperience and a brutal schedule stand in the way of a consecutive title but this roster has been completely reloaded and returns Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram and starting QB Greg McElroy. Nick Saban has the formula for beating the brakes off opponents and this team will be in another major BCS game. Our College Football Picks staff is forecasting a two loss season for this supremely talented but wet behind the ears Tide squad.

Alabama’s offense will be potent with the best running attack in the country led by Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram. Ingram will do his thing behind an experienced O-line that opens mammoth holes. The passing game will also be very-strong with poised and accurate QB Greg McElroy in command. McElroy has only average arm-strength but he has one of the best receiving corps in the country with a true difference maker in WR Julio Jones. This offense should rank in the top-5 in scoring.

Alabama’s is so deep that they will return only 2 starters on defense but still have one of the stingiest units in the nation. While unproven, the stallions that the defense has in place at all three levels is scary. The D could have some growing pains early in the season along the D-line but once they gain some experience, look out. The linebacking corps lost a 1st round NFL talent in Rolando McClain but return a 1st round caliber talent in Don’t’a Hightower who returns after missing all of 2009 with an injury. The secondary is very green but still boasts 4 blue-chip starters.

Nick Saban leads one of the best coaching staffs in the country.  A mediocre special teams unit is one area that could cost the Tide in close games.
