Minnesota 2010 College Football Predictions - 2011 BCS Odds: While not much is expected of the Minnesota Gophers this season they could pull off an upset or two against a killer schedule. The Gophers have a rifle-armed passer in QB Adam Weber that will give them a punchers chance against some of the Big-10 juggernauts. With only two returning starters on defense however a “chance” is all that they have. Our NCAA Football Picks staff is projecting the Gophers to miss a bowl game for just the 2nd time over the past 9 years.
The 2010 Minnesota Gophers 2011 BCS Odds have Minnesota at +30000 on the College Football Betting Moneyline at BetUs.Com.
College Football Predictions Offense: The offense was awful last season but should be pretty good this year with a solid passing game leading the way. The senior QB Weber will work behind an experienced O-line and throw to a group of experienced receivers. The running back position is inexperienced but have a fine prospect in RB Lamonte Edwards.
The 2010 Minnesota Gophers Big-10 Odds have Minnesota at +3000 to win the conference.
College Football Predictions Defense: The defense has athleticism but is green as grass with only two return starters. The front seven could have some gaping holes against the rush with an undersized front seven. The secondary should be able to hold their own but will also be better towards the end of the season as the talent develops.
Coaching/Special Teams: Tim Brewster isn’t the worst coach in the world but a 14-24 career record is uninspiring. Special teams will be above-average with a pair of good legs and some big-play returners.
