UFC 118 Results: Saturday night at UFC 118 former heavyweight champion Randy Couture overwhelmed boxer James Toney at 3:19 of the 1st round via submission. Toney started the bout from his classic Philly shell boxing stance but was quickly taken down by Captain America. Couture had his way with the fat and washed up pug who flailed helplessly as Couture rained down punches on his chest. The end of the one-sided washout came when Couture sunk in a triangle choke that almost cracked Toney’s windpipe and caused him to reach out to the referee for help like a drowning man reaching for a life jacket. Couture cashed in as a -600 UFC betting favorite. Toney lost his first and most likely last UFC bout.
 

UFC 118 Results Analysis: Toney bit off more than he could chew in the main event and so did B.J Penn in a rematch with Frankie Edgar. Edgar confidently strolled into his rematch with the former champion Penn as a healthy +275 underdog and dominated from the opening bell in a decision win. The sluggish Penn looked clumsy and slow against the crisper Edgar who darted in and out firing shots and executing takedowns. Penn showed a glimpse of his former greatness in the 4th when he put Edgar on the mat but was unable to follow up. Edgar has been one of the best UFC bets on the board as an underrated little guy. Final scores read 50-45 on all three cards.
