dwyane wade miami heat

The free sports picks schedule on Sunday, May 15th features the last game of the second round of the 2011 NBA Playoffs followed by the opening game of the Eastern Conference Finals. At 3:30pm ET on ABC, the Oklahoma City Thunder will host the Memphis Grizzlies in a pressure-packed game 7 at the Oklahoma City Arena. The nightcap features game 1 of what will certainly be the most exciting series of the postseason up to this point when the top-seeded Chicago Bulls open up their seven-game series at the United Center at 8:00pm ET on TNT against the Miami Heat. The Miami Heat are listed as a -200 favorite to advance to the 2011 NBA Finals, but I like Chicago’s NBA Playoff odds to take advantage of their home-court advantage and pull off the minor upset.

Zach Randolph was stellar in Game 6, staving off elimination for the Grizzlies with 30 points and 13 rebounds after being limited to a postseason-low nine points in a blowout loss in Game 5. Coach Lionel Hollins inserted O.J. Mayo into Sam Young's spot in the starting lineup in a bid to keep Oklahoma City from crashing so many defenders in on Randolph, and it paid off. It won’t make a difference this time though, as the Thunder will be amped up in front of their home fans like they were in game 5, which resulted in a 27-point beat down. The NBA odds at SBGGlobal.com have the Thunder listed as 6.5-point favorites in game 7 and although I like what Memphis has done so far this postseason, I believe their magical run ends tonight.

Carlos Boozer was strangely quiet for most of the Atlanta series but came alive in the clincher, scoring 23 points and adding 10 rebounds to complement another strong effort from Rose. There will be a lot of star power all the way around in this series and LeBron James and Dwyane Wade will certainly provide most of it. James has reached the 30-point plateau three times against Boston, while Wade did so twice while averaging more than 30 points for the series. The Miami Heat are favored by 1.5 points in game 1, but I’m expecting quite the opposite. Look for D-Rose to come out on top in yet another close game against Miami. The Bulls swept the Heat in three regular season games and I think their success will continue in the first two games at home.
