2011 NHL Stanley Cup Picks Vancouver Canucks vs Boston Bruins Game 4

The Boston Bruins have earned some more NHL picks with their 8-1 drubbing over the Vancouver Canucks and will now try to even the series in game 4 of the 2011 Stanley Cup Finals. The win for Boston shifted the momentum in this series, but it may have come at a huge cost. The Bruins will be without Nathan Horton for the rest of the series. Horton was drilled by a blind-side hit and suffered a severe concussion because of it. The Bruins are still picking up steam and are now listed as a +280 Stanley Cup picks underdog to come back and win the championship. If that is going to happen, however, Boston will need to continue to be extra physical, like they were in game 3. Game 4 is set for Thursday at 8:00pm ET on Versus, and is pretty much a must-win game for the home team.

Boston improved to 8-3 at TD Garden during this postseason, as Vezina Trophy finalist Tim Thomas turned aside 40 shots and provided an exclamation point on the performance by leveling Vancouver captain Henrik Sedin nearly seven minutes into the third period. Boston was without Horton, who left the ice on a stretcher just 5:07 into the first period after he was on the receiving end of a brutal hit from Vancouver defenseman Aaron Rome. With Horton sidelined for the remainder of the series, rookie Tyler Seguin will be reinserted into the lineup. Although the Bruins have their work cut out for them, the ice hockey lines at Bodog.com have Boston listed as a -125 odds favorite to win game 4 and even this series. I think Vancouver shuts them down, however, backing them into a 3-1 hole that they won’t be able to climb out of.

Vancouver right wing Jannik Hansen netted his team's lone goal on Monday. After scoring in the Canucks' first two games of the playoffs, the 25-year-old Denmark native went 18 straight contests without a goal, but the Canucks would really benefit from some more solid play from him. The Canucks are loaded, so any extra offense that Vancouver can muster will be a bonus. I like the Canucks to rebound and I like their odds at +105, so verify with PreGame Sports Service before you pull the trigger and select Vancouver to inch one step closer to their first title.
