We have two free sports picks game 5's on the NBA calender for Wednesday, May 11th, in what I belive is a must-win scenario for both road teams. The Boston Celtics will look to avoid elimination in tonight's matchup in Miami at 7:00pm ET on TNT. Miami is up 3-1 and could put the final nail in Boston’s coffin with a victory at home tonight, but I’m sure that Boston will make it as tough as possible on the Heat. Miami has yet to lose a 2011 NBA Playoffs matchup at home and to be honest; this game won’t be any different. In the Western Conference, we also have a game 5 in Memphis between the Grizzlies and the Oklahoma City Thunder, with the series even at two games apiece and the Oklahoma City Thunder with a great opportunity to move one step closer to facing the Dallas Mavericks in the Western Confernce finals. The Grizzlies NBA Playoff odds are nowhere near where they started but as of right now, Oklahoma City is now listed as a -250 favorite to win this series. These are going to be two hard-fought ball games tonight and I believe both home teams find a way to pull off the victory.
The NBA odds at SBGGlobal.com have the Miami Heat listed as 7-point favorites in game 5, and with the Celtics nursing some injuries, Miami will make a statement tonight in front of its home fans as they will finish off the Celtics and earn a few extra days off while they wait for the winner between the Bulls and the Hawks. Boston will keep it close and will probably cover, but Miami is moving on. Miami lost game 3 by 16 points in Boston, but then they rebounded with an overtime win in game 4. I think Miami took the air out of the series in that overtime game because had Boston found a way to win that game, we’d be heading into game 5 with the series even at 2 games apiece.
Russell Westbrook (40) and Kevin Durant (35) combined for 75 points in Game 4. Both players are averaging 29 points in the series. Westbrook finally got his ball-handling under control with just three turnovers after having 18 miscues over the first three games. Reserve James Harden had 19 points and was a splendid 10-for-10 from the free-throw line. The Thunder are favored by 6.5 points in game 5 at the Oklahoma City Arena, but that spread is way too large. This is going to be a tightly contested ballgame that should see Oklahoma City come out on top, but I think Memphis covers tonight while giving Oklahoma City a bit of a scare.
