Owned by Rick Porter of Fox Hill Farm, Havre de Grace, who has been the top thoroughbred the last two months, is the 3-1 second choice behind 5-2 favorite Uncle Mo for the 1 1/4-mile Classic. The filly, trained by Larry Jones, has the chance to join 2009 Classic champ Zenyatta, last year's runner-up, as the only females to win the race. Havre de Grace is running better than any horse in the field. She has proven she can handle the long distance, and is peaking at the right time. With so many experts picking her to win, you at least have to make her part of your equation, not matter how you choose to bet Breeders’ Cup Classic picks this evening.

Uncle Mo drew the 12 post in a field of 13; that sets up an interesting tactical issue for his rider John Velasquez. Does he send Uncle Mo to press Game On Dude, a tough speedster who breaks from post 8? Or does he hold back and hope for a good trip while someone else presses Game On Dude? Havre De Grace will leave from post 10 and should have no excuses on the day. I think that neither of these horses will win this race though, but they should both be in your superfecta and trifecta plays without question.
