2010 CWS Odds: South Carolina Gamecocks at UCLA Bruins; Picks & Predictions: The UCLA Bruins (51-15) will take on the South Carolina Gamecocks (52-16) in the final act ever at Rosenblatt Stadium (Monday 7:30 p.m. on ESPN/ESPN3) in Omaha, Nebraska. These two teams are brimming with confidence as UCLA has done it with power pitchers, Trevor Bauer and Gerrit Cole, while South Carolina has done it by grinding out every pitch and every at-bat as they've taken the long and difficult road to the 2010 College World Series championships. Hammerhead Sports always offers the most accurate free sports picks and College World Series picks from our College World Series predictions experts. The Bruins will send out hard-throwing right hander Gerrit Cole to try to lock up game one and start their path to the school's first ever national baseball title. Cole presents the strongest challenge for the Gamecocks as he throws in the upper 90s, and batters hit only .194 against him this season. The Gamecocks will counter with Blake Cooper, who went 12-2 as a Friday starter in the SEC this season, on three days rest. South Carolina will have to change its recent ways as they have faced elimination four times during the College World Series and can not afford to fall behind to a UCLA team with so many power arms.

The Bruins bullpen has only thrown 7 2/3 innings in Omaha and should be well-rested for the CWS final. Midweek starter Garett Claypool, who would be a weekend starter for most teams, will fill the long relief role. Erik Goeddel (2-0, 3.12) and closer Dan Klein (6-0, 1.85, 10 saves) will pick up most of the rest of the innings. South Carolina has a lot more arms to choose from, but Monday's opener might see several of them in action. Coach Ray Tanner will play match ups (he made three pitching changes in three batters in the CWS opener) and has quality arms on both sides. Closer Matt Price (4-1, 2.38, 10 saves) has overpowering stuff and has struck out 12 batters in seven innings in Omaha.

Bodog Sportsbook has the South Carolina Gamecocks (+165) as a free college world series picks road underdog against the UCLA Bruins (-190). With both teams strong points being their pitching, this is a great opportunity to pad your bankroll with the resilient Gamecocks in a low scoring College World Series opener. The 2010 College World Series Betting Odds total run line is 10.5.
