Mine That Bird 2009 Belmont Stakes favorite at 4-3 Odds: Mine That Bird has come a long way since winning the Kentucky Derby as a 50-to-1 odds long-shot on the Bodog horse racing betting board. Since that time, Mine That Bird has climbed the ladder to the top of horse racing's world and is now listed as 4-to-3 odds favorite on the BetUS Horse Racing board to win the 2009 Belmont Stakes. These odds were installed following Wednesday's gate draw at Belmont where the horse drew Post-7. The odds on the Las Vegas horse board list Mine That Bird as 2-to-1 favorite.

Jockey Calvin Borel is back aboard Mind That Bird after abandoning his Kentucky Derby mount for Rachel Alexandra in the Preakness Stakes of which he won. If Borel wins today, he will have swept the three triple crown events as a jockey. Mind That Bird finished second in the Preakness with Mike Smith aboard.

It will be interesting to see how Mine That Bird fares in today's Belmont Stakes as the horse is known  for charging from the rear. The Belmont track is longer, an oval more fit for endurance racing. Mine That Bird has demonstrated an uncanny ability to sprint at the end. We will see how much the gelding has left.

 “If we can be within 10 of 12 lengths of (the leaders), I feel comfortable he has enough kick left,” said trainer Chip Woolley, Mine That Bird's trainer.
