College Football Picks Week 2 kicks off Thursday night (Sept. 10) with the Clemson Tigers visiting the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets for a crucial ACC battle. This college football picks Clemson/Georgia Tech series has been highly competitive with 10 of the last 13 contests being decided by five points or less. Last year Georgia Tech defeated Clemson for the second straight year in a classic 21-17 battle.

Georgia Tech has won four of the last five meetings and three of those four wins have been by a touchdown or less. Clemson has struggled to score in Atlanta, in fact Clemson has not scored a touchdown in Atlanta since 2003 when it won 39-3 behind quarterback Charlie Whitehurst.

Both Clemson and Georgia Tech will trot out two of the nations best running backs, in Heisman Trophy candidates Jonathan Dwyer of Tech and Clemson's C.J. Spiller.

Spiller had one of the best games of his career against Georgia Tech as a freshman in 2006, becoming the only player in Clemson history to have a 50-yard touchdown run AND a 50-yard scoring catch in the same game. Most remember the pass play, which was nothing more than a short throw he turned into something special. Spiller made two guys miss along the sideline and scampered all the way to the end zone, sparking the Tigers to a 31-7 victory.

Dwyer left plenty of defenders in the dust last season, leading the ACC in rushing with 1,395 yards. Spiller led the ACC in all-purpose yards (1,770), which included 629 yards on the ground while sharing playing time with James Davis.
