Utah owns the longest current win streak (14 games) and bowl win streak (eight games) in the nation. Coming off a 13-0 season that saw Utah finish No. 2 in the nation in the Associated Press rankings, the Utes enter the 2009 season with their best preseason rankings ever and are a college football picks favorite versus the Aggies.

Utah leads the series with the Aggies 76-28-4 and has won the last 11 games played between the schools. For Aggies backers, don't expect any miracles in slowing down the Aggies on Thursday.

Utah State brings a lot of unknowns, as is in every opener. They have 10 returning starters and a new coaching staff and they have a lot of excitement with the turnover.

The Utes have questions at quarterback and will not name a starter until game time. The battle for the position all fall camp has been between Terrance Cain and Jordan Wynn.

Regardless who is on the controls, the Utes will come out flying with their spread offense. The question is, can the undermanned Aggies from the Western Athletic Conference stop it? Expect new Aggie coach Gary Andersen to have his defensive coordinator Bill Busch throw the kitchen sink at the high-octane Utes; however, it probably won't do much good.
