College World Series 2009: LSU vs Texas in Championship Series

College World Series 2009: The No. 1 ranked Texas Longhorns and No. 3 LSU Tigers men’s baseball teams will play for the NCAA National Championship in a three-game championship series beginning Monday at the 2009 Men’s College World Series at Rosenblatt Stadium in Omaha, Neb. First pitch time for Game-1 is set for 7 p.m. ET and will be televised on ESPN.

Texas and LSU went undefeated through their respective brackets of the CWS. In the three game series format, the first school to win two games in the championship round will be crowned as the NCAA Men’s Baseball National Champion.

Betting odds and prices for the CWS championship series at all the major online and Las Vegas sports books are currently OFF board.

LSU’s four home runs led a 16-hit barrage and starter Anthony Ranaudo threw six shutout innings as the top-ranked Tigers stormed past Arkansas 14-5 Friday afternoon at Rosenblatt Stadium to advance to the championship series of the College World Series.

Catcher Cameron Rupp and center fielder Connor Rowe hit solo home runs in the bottom of the ninth to give Texas a 4-3, walk-off win over Arizona State before a crowd of 23,257 Friday night at Rosenblatt Stadium.

The Longhorns, making their 32nd College World Series appearance in school history, improve to 8-1 in the NCAA Tournament and 49-14-1 on the season.
