College World Series 2009: A well rested Texas Longhorns baseball team will advance to the championship round of the 2009 Men’s College World Series with a win over Arizona State Friday night at Rosenblatt Stadium in Omaha, Neb. The Sun Devils advanced to play Texas after eliminating North Carolina on Thursday. If Arizona State is able to defeat Texas in this game, the two schools will play on Saturday for the chance to play for a NCAA College Baseball National Championship. For the Sun Devils to advance into the championship round, they must defeat undefeated Texas twice. ASU has already lost once to Texas in the double-elimination format of the College World Series.
 
Online oddsmakers at sportsbook SBGglobal.com are listing the Sun Devils as -160 moneyline odds
favorites over the Longhorns. Texas backers are getting +140 moneyline odds as the underdog.  The total is currently OFF the SBG Global betting board.   

For last Tuesday’s game between ASU and Texas, it was the Sun Devils installed as -220 moneyline favorites on thSBGglobal.combetting board with a 9 ½-run total. Texas cashed as a +170 moneyline underdog and the combined 16 runs scored easily surpassed the 9 ½ total.

Texas is expected to start sophomore right-hand pitcher Cole Green Friday against the Sun Devils. Green was the Longhorns’ opening starter versus Southern Miss last Sunday. He was solid throughout, going seven-plus innings and allowing six hits, one walk and fanning eight.

Arizona State has not announced a starter as of todays publishing deadline.
