
College World Series 2009: Two power-house programs, Arizona State Sun Devils and Texas Longhorns, will do battle today in a winners-bracket game of the College World Series at Rosenblatt Stadium in Omaha, Neb., Wednesday with first pitch set for 7 p.m. on ESPN. Both ASU and Texas saved their pitching rotation aces for today's game. Getting the start for the Sun Devils is junior right-hander Mike Leake who went 16-1 on the season with a microscopic 1.36 ERA. The Longhorns will counter with Chance Ruffin. The sophomore right-hander is 10-2 with an impressive 3.02 ERA.
A four-run 10th inning lifted the ASU baseball team to a 5-2 win over North Carolina in the opening round of the 2009 College World Series on Sunday. A crowd of 24,273 fans at Omaha's Rosenblatt Stadium saw the Sun Devils improve to 50-12 on the season.
