2012 College Football Week 11 Predictions

by Steve Mcelroy on Tuesday, November 6th, 2012

As things appear at the moment, the (9-0, SEC: 6-0) Alabama Crimson Tide and the (9-0, Independent: 1-0) Notre Dame Fighting Irish may be destined to meet in the 2012 BCS National Championship Game. In the upcoming 2012 college football week 11 predictions, both teams will face some stiff competition.

First, the Tide will be at home this week when it hosts the last nationally ranked team remaining on their schedule.

Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, AL, will be filled to capacity when Bama welcomes the 15th-ranked (7-2, SEC 4-2) Texas A&M Aggies.

As expected, 2012 college football week 11 predictions experts list Bama as 13.5-point favorites over the Aggies [+13.5] this week. Texas A&M is coming off a 38-13 victory over Mississippi State, while the Tide barely rolled past the LSU, 21-17.

“I told the players they would have to overcome a lot of adversity to win a game here,” said Bama head coach Nick Saban. “Things went bad. The momentum changed. But they kept their poise, kept playing, kept competing. I’ve never been prouder of as bunch of guys.”

In the case of the Irish, they too had to come from behind to defeat a very tough opponent last week. Trailing for most of the game, Notre Dame mounted a furious 26-3 run in the final quarter and overtime to barely get past Pitt, 29-26.

Irish quarterback Everett Golson helped keep his team unbeaten, completing 23- of 42 passes for 227 yards and two touchdowns to his one interception. Golson also knew when to tuck it in and run, as he rushed for 74 yards on 15 carries and a score.

“We overcame a lot tonight. We overcame some uncharacteristic mistakes,” said Irish head coach Brian Kelly said. “Last year that would have been a loss. But our team kept fighting, kept playing.”

Notre Dame will be on the road this week, as it travels to Alumni Stadium in Chestnut Hill, MA, to take on Boston College. It comes as no surprise that the defensive-minded Irish [-19] are listed as NCAAF betting odds favorites over the hosting Eagles [+19] this week. Kickoff is scheduled for 8 PM ET.
