NFL Week 5 Betting Odds 2011

by Jonathan Pou on Tuesday, October 4th, 2011

Most of the NFL week 5 betting odds 2011 have been released by the major sportsbooks and that gives us plenty of time to explore some attractive NFL betting actions heading into the weekend. There are only two undefeated teams remaining in the NFL, but there are still four winless teams entering Week 5 play. Out of the four teams that are looking for that elusive first win of the season, NFL betting picks experts are aware that only two of those four teams will have a chance to get their team in the win column this week. The Miami Dolphins, Minnesota Vikings, St. Louis Rams and Indianapolis Colts are still living a nightmare, but things could change for a couple of teams next Sunday.

The Miami Dolphins and the St. Louis Rams have a bye this week, so there are no NFL week 5 betting odds to inspect for them. In week 6, we’ll discuss their chances to get that goose egg off the board when they resume play next week. As for Indianapolis and Minnesota, the schedule-makers were reasonably kind to them in week 5, and both have a chance to finally grab that first win. But whether it’s in Week 5 or week 6, all of these teams desperately need to get the first victory under their respective belts because the season will continue to move along without them if they don’t cash in on their week 5 pro football odds.

The Colts, despite their struggles, nearly beat both the Steelers in Week 3 and the Buccaneers in Week 4, so it seems that maybe the injury to Kerry Collins may be the best thing that’s happened to the Colts this season, as QB Curtis Painter, has looked better than expected so far. The best news for those hoping that the Colts can get out of their winless rut is that they face another struggling team in the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 5. The Chiefs have logged just one win on the season, and that was against the winless Vikings. The Chiefs barely squeezed out that win, which indicates that they are going to struggle to beat Indianapolis on the turf that makes Dwight Freeney and Robert Mathis seem like oncoming trains. I think that there will be one less winless team in the NFL after week 5 and that’s going to be the Colts, whose NFL betting odds at are definitely worth a look.
