The first round of the 2016 NFL playoffs have come and gone, and for OSH readers who decided to trust our expertise, it was a great weekend as we dished out three winning predictions and a push – Chiefs (-3.5), Steelers (-2), Vikings (+5.5) and Packers (+1). With the AFC and NFC Divisional rounds in the horizon, this would be a great time to bet on which of the remaining teams will win the 2016 Super Bowl.
Why is this the most opportune time to pull the trigger on which franchise will be the last one standing when the dust settles at Levi’s Stadium next month? The answer is very simple: ROI (Return On Investment). Seasoned NFL betting aficionados are very well aware that this is the time of the year when the absolute best and most profitable money lines become available.
Following the 2016 NFL Wild Card weekend, the remaining teams still aspiring to hoist the Vince Lombardi Trophy are the Denver Broncos, Carolina Panthers, New England Patriots, Denver Broncos, Arizona Cardinals, Kansas City Chiefs, Green Bay Packers, Pittsburgh Steelers and Seattle Seahawks.
Obviously, those are all quality teams for separate reasons, but where does the smart money fit from these powerhouses? It’s easy to pick the top seeds for the fact that they will have home-field advantage on their side, but as experienced bettors know, hot teams like the Chiefs, Steelers and Packers are more than capable of going all the way.
According to pro football odds posted immediately following the result of this weekend’s games, the race to the top of the mountain will be a three-team climb to the summit. Highlighting this list, all given +400 chances to win the 2016 Super Bowl are the Cards, Pats and Hawks.
However, if you’re looking for the best bet in terms of ROI, I would suggest to not discard Carolina at +500, Denver at +600, Kansas City and Pittsburgh at +800, and most of all, the Packers at a whopping +1800.
With those figures, issuing 2016 NFL Super Bowl predictions becomes a no-brainer, as the Packers are impossible to pass up. Given the value and the fact that they have the very best quarterback on the planet, there’s no doubt that Green Bay at +1800 is an absolute steal.
For the record, Green Bay will be in the desert next week, as it visits a team that’s as hard to beat at home as anyone in the National Football League. Nevertheless, the Cards did lose to the Rams in Week 4, before closing out the season with a 30-point shellacking at the hands of the Seahawks in Week 17, so the Packers will have a legitimate shot at keeping thing rolling.
For now, the Green Bay Packers are my team to bet on immediately, merely because of their value. My second choice would be the Seattle Seahawks, followed by the New England Patriots, who both offer $400 for every $100 invested on them.
