With the 2014 NFL playoffs picks in full force, everyone is trying to gear up for what should be a incredible Super Bowl. The only remaining question is: Which team from each conference should you pick to make the trip to East Rutherford in Feb.?
The good news is that I’m here to answer that very popular question, and in turn, make your betting life a little easier and more profitable. After a “wild” NFL Wild Card weekend, teams still in the running are: Seattle, New Orleans, Indianapolis, New England, San Francisco, Carolina, San Diego and Denver.
After this weekend, only four teams will remain, but for now, let’s take a look at the latest NFL odds to win each conference, followed by my personal AFC and NFC 2014 NFL playoff picks.
Odds to win AFC Conference Championship 2014
- Denver Broncos -160
- New England Patriots +320
- San Diego Chargers +650
- Indianapolis Colts +800
Obviously, the last thing I want to do is pick the team that, not only everyone else is picking, but also the favorite. However, truth is that it’s hard to imagine that any of those four teams can defeat Peyton Manning and a Broncos team with home field advantage.
One can pretty much guess what most people are thinking: “Broncos will have their hands full against the Chargers this week.” Wrong! Not only will Manning defeat Philip Rivers and the Bolts, but they will do so in emphatic fashion!
- 2014 NFL Playoff Picks (AFC Championship): Denver Broncos (-160)
In the National Football Conference, things are a little nuttier, and quite frankly, I think it’s very much wide open. In contrast to the AFC, the NFC is filled with killers and formidable teams that can easily go all the way.
Odds to win NFC Conference Championship 2014
- Seattle Seahawks -105
- San Francisco 49ers +260
- Carolina Panthers +400
- New Orleans Saints +800
As you can see, these four teams have all the ingredients of a Super Bowl champion, especially on defense. If I had to bet, I would have to say that by the way things look right now, the nest Super Bowl champion will be an NFC team.
But in terms of who has the best chances of reaching the Big Game, I would have to disagree with oddsmakers in this one. While the Seahawks are an amazing bunch, I just don’t see them beating the Niners.
Heck, I know this is going to sound absolutely insane, but I wouldn’t be the least surprised if the Saints are able to go shut CenturyLink Field down by shocking the world with a win over Pete Carroll’s team.
In the end, I believe that the Niners are the most complete team in the NFL, and given the way they played in last week’s brutal conditions, that feeling was confirmed. I like the free NFL picks San Francisco 49ers to reach the Super Bowl in back-to-back years and face the Denver Broncos!
