The Ball State Cardinals was the country’s “darling†for much of the season, until a devastating loss to Turner Gil’s Buffalo team in the conference championship ended the Cardinals’ BCS dreams. Nevertheless, Ball State is a supremely talented and confident team. QB Nate Davis has been lights out all season long, throwing 25 Touchdowns so far. The Ball State offense is extremely balanced, as they average 193 yards rushing and 267 yards passing per game. The running game is led by the underrated RB Miquael Lewis, who has shredded almost every defense he has seen this year. Ball State will enjoy a huge advantage on the defensive side of the ball, especially against the pass. Ball State has also played a tougher schedule than Tulsa.
