If 2014 MLB oddsmakers and predictions for the AL Central are correct, the Tigers will finish head and shoulder above the Royals, Indians, White Sox and Twins in the final standings.

Offensively, the Detroit Tigers are so deep that even after losing a player like Prince Fielder they still possess one of the best odds to win the 2014 Fall Classic, anchored what will be a menacing lineups.

On Feb. 23, the Detroit Free Press reported that first-year Tigers skipper Brad Ausmus has dropped a few hints as to what the felines batting order will be. With Fielder gone, the MLB odds favorites to win the 2014 American League Central title will have 2012 AL Triple Crown champion Miguel Cabrera batting third followed by Victor Martinez, who was bumped up one spot from last season.

“Victor’s a hitter, period,” Ausmus said this week as he met with the press. “You assume Miggy’s going to be on base a decent amount of times, but I have no problem with Victor being behind him, and he gives us the advantage of being a switch hitter.”

As far as AL Central betting odds are concerned, all you need to know is that the Tigers are the only team who has a negative money line coming into the season. at the present time, Motown is favored by -300 to win the division title, followed by a 2-way tie between the Kansas City Royals and Cleveland Indians at a whopping +700 odds.

Despite sitting in fourth place in this category, the Chicago White Sox are sure to be in the mix for second or third place in the AL Central, as they have been tagged with +800 odds. Finally, we have the Minnesota Twins, who would be a longshot in terms of winning the division this season at an eye-popping, +3000 betting odds.

As much as I would love to be able to say that either the Indians, Royals, White Sox or Twins will be this year’s Cinderella story, I feel silly even considering that anyone could beat out the Tigers in a 162-game regular season – barring a series of significant injuries.
