If there were tennis odds on Andy Roddick disappointing in a major tennis tournaments, there would be a lot of rich players in the Bodog Sportsbook.
Under a sweltering heat at Arthur Ashe Stadium in Flushing Meadows, New York, Roddick — which U.S. Open odds listed as a -600 favorite in the match — couldn't solve the serve of +375 underdog Janko Tipsarevic. Roddick was ousted after four sets (3-6, 7-5, 6-3, 7-6) and 16 aces by Tipsarevic, adding yet another early exit to his resume.
Recently Roddick had a fourth-round loss at Wimbledon and some poor results on the summer hard-court circuit, usually his best time of year. The ninth seeded pro recently revealed that he didn't come to New York 100 percent, but considering his only grand slam was at Flushing Meadows expectations were still high.

It appears the Cincinnati Reds have their ace in the bullpen for October.
On Tuesday, August 31, the Reds called up 22-year-old Cuban left-hander Aroldis Chapman from Triple-A Louisville, and the prospect has been throwing heat ever since.
In seventh-inning relief Wednesday night Chapman was clocked at 103.9 mph, earning his first career win by blowing pitches past the Milwaukee Brewers. 6-1 was the final.
His presence gives the Reds a needed boost in the bullpen as they near closer to earning their first playoff bid since 1995.
And the Reds have more than a legitimate shot. They've pulled eight games ahead of their only rival in the NL Central, the St. Louis Cardinals. MLB odds have them as easy favorites to take the NL Central.
Chapman and his hand cannon have another pivotal series with the Cardinals starting Friday, September 3.

Just days before the 2010 college football season kicks the Big Ten dropped a bomb on fans of Ohio State and Michigan by revealing that the two teams will be split in separate divisions.
But relax NCAA fans, the two squads will have crossover games every season. Therefore if the two squads make it to the divisional championship there will be not one but two Ohio State/Michigan matchups every season.
The new division will take place in the 2011 season when the Big Ten expands to 12 teams. Neither division has been named but they break down like this: Michigan, Nebraska, Iowa, Michigan State, Minnesota and Northwestern in one. Ohio State, Penn State, Wisconsin, Illinois, Purdue and Indiana in the other.
Now for the important part, how will this affect bettors next year? This year the Big Ten team with the most wins overall wins the Big Ten Conference — NCAA Odds have Ohio State as a 4/9 favorite to win. However, next year's divisional system will take the best teams from each side and put them in one game for the conference championship, leaving an opportunity for an underdog from one division to pull off the upset. If the Buckeyes were under the divisional system this year, it's likely their odds would be a little worse than 4/9.
Currently, the team with the best odds to win the conference in 2010 besides the Buckeyes is the Iowa Hawkeyes at 4/1 odds.
